FAQ

Questions we are often asked

Which glass protection should I choose?

Standard: the glass is in contact with the medium. FEP foil liner: a fluoropolymer foil liner keeps the glass out of contact with the medium — choose it for hydrofluoric acid (HF) and other media that attack glass. Tell us your medium and we will confirm the choice.

PFA or PFA/AS lining?

PFA (virgin PFA) is the standard lining. PFA/AS is the antistatic version for media where electrostatic charge must be led off.

Which size and norm?

One page for both norms. DN 15 – 250 follows EN 1092-1 PN 16; NPS ½" – 10" follows ASME B16.5 Class 150 RF. The dimension table shows the listed sizes; choose the size, lining and glass protection and send the configuration as a request for quotation.

Is the sight glass suitable for vacuum?

PFA lining anchored in dovetail grooves in the body — suitable for vacuum service; limits per P-T diagram or on request.

Which documents come with each sight glass?

Sight glasses are pressure tested to DIN EN 12266-1 and supplied with EN 10204 3.1 material certificates. Designed and manufactured to PED 2014/68/EU.

PFA or PTFE lining — what is the difference?

Both are fully fluorinated plastics with almost universal chemical resistance. PTFE cannot be melted, so PTFE liners are pressed and sintered. PFA can be melted, so we transfer-mould it into the valve body: the lining is dense, anchored in the body and follows complex shapes. If your specification says "PTFE-lined", a PFA-lined valve meets the same chemical duty — ask us for a comparison for your medium.
