PFA-Lined Shut-Off Valves for Corrosive Media

Ball, butterfly and diaphragm valves with PFA-lined wetted parts, made in Germany and quoted online.

Shut-off valves isolate lines, tanks and equipment. GFT9 builds three types with a PFA lining, so the medium touches fluoropolymer only: the Spheron9 full-bore ball valve, the Papilon9 butterfly valve for large lines and the Membron9 diaphragm valve for isolation and throttling. The ball valve is also available as a Clean Room Series version.

The table below matches the duty to the valve. Every product page lets you choose the size (EN or ASME), lining and operation and send the configuration as a request for quotation. Made in Germany; every valve is pressure-tested in Germany before shipment.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Ball, butterfly or diaphragm valve — which one?

Choose the ball valve (Spheron9) for on/off isolation, including automated duty. Choose the butterfly valve (Papilon9) for large lines up to DN 600, where its short face-to-face keeps the installation compact. Choose the diaphragm valve (Membron9) where the diaphragm should separate the medium from the bonnet, for example acid and caustic dosing or slurries with fine solids.

Can these valves throttle?

The Spheron9 is an on/off valve; a V-control ball is available on request, and for regulation the Imperium9 control valve is the better choice. The Papilon9 can throttle with lever positions or an actuator. The Membron9 is used for isolation and throttling.

What is the Clean Room version?

The Clean Room Series version of the Spheron9 has a stainless steel body 1.4408 (CF8M), electropolished instead of painted. The PFA-lined wetted path is the same as in the standard valve. An FDA declaration for the PFA wetted parts and USP Class VI documentation are available on request.

PFA or PFA/AS lining?

PFA is the standard lining. PFA/AS is the antistatic version for media where electrostatic charge must be led off. Other linings are available on request on several lines; name the one you need in your request.

PFA or PTFE lining — what is the difference?

PTFE cannot be melted, so PTFE liners are pressed and sintered. PFA can be melted, so we transfer-mould it into the valve body: the lining is dense, anchored in the body and follows complex shapes. If your specification says "PTFE-lined", ask us for a comparison for your medium.

Which documents come with each valve?

Every valve is pressure-tested in Germany before shipment and ships with EN 10204 3.1 material certificates. The Spheron9 is certified under PED 2014/68/EU Module A2 and type-tested to TA-Luft leakage class BH (DN 10 – 150). The Papilon9 and Membron9 are designed and manufactured to the Pressure Equipment Directive 2014/68/EU; ATEX and TA-Luft versions of the Papilon9 are available on request.
